Because the computer brand is a Compal and I can't find a OEM certificate for it. That's why.

I have tried a Vista Ultimate OEM *DELL* version, which is pre-activated. It works on my computer although it is not a DELL. Do you know how this works? Is it using a BIOS SLIC emulator?

Thanks for your answer.

If the SLIC table is a dell, then only a dell OEM certificate will work with it. Same with ASUS. Why would u want to change it anyway?

Hi InuYasha62,

With your 10/10 method, does the OEM certificate have to match the brand of the computer?

Or can I use for instance a ASUS cert. on a DELL computer as long as I use the ASUS OEM key when installing Vista?

If not, is there a way to modify the SLIC table so it will work with one of the available certs.?

My BIOS does have the SLIC table.

Thanks..

Manb,

I recommend some form of emulation, and in your situation, I would go with softmod, paradox, or modified bootmgr

Apul,

I recommend the modified bootmgr if softmod or paradox wont work for you.

Ty,
You need to right click and click "run as administrator"

Hi InuYasha62

this might be some challenge for you. I have a Apple Macbook with Vista ultimate installed on it. Obviously I need to activate it. But Bios cracks wont work on my machine. And the timers are easily detectable by MS. Please guide what can I do for my system.

Does the timer still work after installing office 2007?
